  11.              THE TRUE GREATER RITUAL OF THE PENTAGRAM
  12.  
  13.      As the Lesser Ritual of the Pentagram places the Magician on
  14. the Path of Samech, so this Greater Ritual places him on the Path
  15. of Gimel above, instead of below  Tiphareth.
  16.  
  17.      Perform the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram and
  18. annoint body with Holy Oil before performing this Greater Ritual
  19. of the Pentagram.
  20.                                 I 
  21.      Take up your position facing the West, strike the bell once
  22. and  cry aloud
  23.                            Abrahadabra! 
  24.  giving the Threefold Sign of Enterer (Horus), Silence
  25. (Harpocrates), and Apophis (Set Triumphant).
  26.  
  27.      Whirl around as on a pivot as rapidly as you can with the
  28. Wand or Sword outstretched, thus making a magick circle. Then
  29. say, with all the exaltation possible:
  30.  
  31.           The light is mine; its rays consume me:
  32.           I have made a secret door 
  33.           Into the House of Ra (Enterer towards East)
  34.                and Tum (Enterer towards West),
  35.                of Khephra (Enterer towards North)
  36.                and of Ahathoor (Enterer towards South).
  37.           (In centre, facing West, in Sign of Silence)
  38.           I am thy Theban, O Mentu,
  39.           The prophet Ankh-af-na-khonsu!

  42.      Turning 60 degrees to your left, make the inverted Invoking
  43. Pentagram of Fire and cry NUIT.
  44.  
  45.      Turning 60 degrees to your original right (i.e. to the North
  46. of West) make the same Pentagram and cry HADIT.
  47.  
  48.      Turn to the East, make the same Pentagram and cry
  49. RA-HOOR-KHUIT.
  50.  
  51.      Then turn 60 degrees North of East, make the erect Invoking
  52. Pentagram of Fire and cry BES-NA-MAUT.
  53.  
  54.      Then  turn  60  degrees  South of East, make  the same
  55. Pentagram  and cry  TA-NECH.
  56.  
  57.      Then to the West, make the same Pentagram and cry
  58. ANKH-AF-NA-KHONSU.
  59.  
  60.      Seat yourself with your hands on your knees, like an
  61. enthroned Egyptian God, or stand in the Sign of Hoor-Paar-Kraat.

  63.      Say slowly, and very forcibly, in a low voice:

  66.           Ardent and awful on my right
  67.                Rage Ratziel and Tzadkiel.
  68.                     Red Raphael on his burning throne
  69.           Guards me behind:  with magian might
  70.                Dread Khamael and Tzaphkiel
  71.                     War on my left:  the avengers own
  72.                     Before me flaming out alone
  73.                     The Majesty of Metatron!

  75.           For around me in six several ways
  76.           The fivefold sword-stars beat and blaze;
  77.           While in the column shines and slays
  78.           The star that hath eleven rays.

  82.      Rise and give the Threefold Sign, remaining in the Sign of
  83. Apophis- Typhon to invoke whatever force thou wishest to invoke.

  88.      Repeat all of part I, and then forcibly say:
  89.  
  90.           By Bes-na-Maut my breast I beat;
  91.                By wise Ta-Nech I weave my spell.
  92.           Show thy star-splendour, O Nuit!
  93.                Bid me within thine House to dwell,
  94.           O winged Snake of Light, Hadit!
  95.                Abide with me Ra-Hoor-Khuit!

  100.      This Pentagram Ritual is combined openly with the Hexagram, 
  101. for the secret formulation of Abrahadabra. 
  102.  
  103.      The Hexagram is arranged differently on the Tree, to
  104. correspond with Kether (highest top point), Chokmah (top-right),
  105. Binah (top-left), Chesed (bottom-right), Geburah (bottom-left)
  106. and Tiphareth (lowest bottom point). Keep in mind that this
  107. Ritual is done on the Path of Gimel. When making Pentagrams and
  108. vibrating Names in this Rite you are also formulating the
  109. Hexagram. Thus:

  111.                Nuit = Binah
  112.                Hadit = Chokmah
  113.                Ra-Hoor-Khuit = Tiphareth
  114.                Bes-Na-Maut = Chesed           
  115.                Ta-Nech = Geburah
  116.                Ankh-af-na-khonsu = Kether
  117.  
  118.      Note that Bes-Na-Maut and Ta-Nech are the parents of Ankh-
  119. af-na-khonsu. These are lesser forms of Nuit and Hadit. Ankh-af-
  120. na-khonsu of course has a direct relationship to Ra-Hoor-Khuit;
  121. he is the physical incarnation of that God.

  123.      Crowley remarked that this Ritual is not satisfactory unless
  124. there be a properly constructed Circle marked with the Hexagram
  125. and Six Lamps.

  127.      He further stated that this Ritual is neither perfect nor
  128. inspired.---
